Diane Kathryn Haas is an artist living in San Francisco with her partner and muse Trish Tunney. dk first experimented with encaustics in 2005. She immediately knew she had found her medium, went out and bought a used frying pan, some beeswax, and embarked on her passionate journey. In 2006, dk made a practice of making a painting every day and in that year posted nearly 200 paintings to her blog.
dk shows her work around San Francisco and is a member of the artist cooperative: City Art Gallery. She regularly donates art work to charities that help people with cancer and HIV. And continues to update her painting a day blog.
Like many artists who engage in healing and helping professions, dk has over a decade of professional experience in training and group facilitation. She combines these skills with her experience as an artist to lead creativity workshops in San Francisco.
